Background: Feedback is very important for teacher and student interaction in the skill training. Although feedback is a key step in clinical skill acquisition, giving feedback in a training session is often neglected by teacher. Lack of feedback, may be caused by instructor's incompetence in giving feedback, which may affect the quality of graduate's clinical skills. Objective: The objective of the study was to measure the effect of constructive feedback training among instructor on the students clinical skill score and feedback quality as perceived by the student Methods: It was an experimental study with post test only control group design. Treatment group consisted of students, in which the instructors had been trained constructive feedback. Control group consisted of students, in which instructors had not included in such training. Students' performance was measured by OSCE, and student perception on instructor's feedback was measured by questionnaires with 5¬point Likert scale. OSCE's score was compared with student's t test, and the questionnaire data was compared by Mann-Whitney test, with significance level of 95%. Results: The average score of OSCE in treatment group was higher but not significantly different from that in the control group (p = 0.43). Average scores of student perception on the quality of feedback in the treatment group was significantly higher (p = 0.00) than in the control group. Increasing feedback quality in the treatment group showed that constructive feedback training had increased instructors' knowledge and skills. Conclusions: Constructive feedback given to students during clinical skill training could increase the student OSCE score, although die difference with the control group was not significant.
