Background: Educational climate is overall ambience of an educational institution that is crucial importance to both educational organizers and students. It is a consideration in educational institution to make innovation and improve their quality. Objective: Compare expected and actual perceptions of medical student's 2007 both the Regular and Internasional program of their educational environment in Medical Faculty of GMU, so an evaluation can be made to make a proper educational climate that is conducive. Methods: A DREEM questionnaire was used to measure educational climate. Observational cohort prospective performed in Medical Faculty of GMU and students were asked to complete the DREEM before learning activities (as expected perceptions) then 8 month after it (as actual perceptions). Results: The expected perception score was 139,93 (178 participants) and the actual perception score was 123,70 (234 participants), out of maximum of 200 score DREEM There are suitable verbal interpretation for perception of learning and atmosphere, academics self-, social self perception and total score DREEM Perceptions of teachers was decline from a model teacher (33,60) moving to the right direction (30,63). The educational environment showing means and differences were identified The difference mean of 50 items DREEM showed distinct value to make an evaluation. Conclusions: Medical student's 2007 had expected perceptions that is different with actual perceptions about their educational environment in each subscale of mean and total DREEM. It was influenced by sex, hometown and motivation. Although some subscales was showed appropriate in verbal interpretation.
