The knowledge of women who at risk of osteoporosis affected by various factors, in¬cluding women characteristics and health education those they already had. The knowledge of women who were at risk of osteoporosis could be enhanced by using various methods and media which suita¬ble to achieve women learning needs. The purpose of this study was to explore the factors influencing the knowledge of the women who at risk of osteoporosis and to examine the effectiveness of health education to the knowledge of the women who at risk of osteoporosis in Fatmawati hospital Jakarta using osteoporosis prevention guidelines. The design of this study was quasi experimental design using pre and posttest controlled group approach. The sample of this study was women who are having exercise in gymnastic of Diabetes Mel¬litus and Heart exercise at integrated Medical Rehabilitation. The inclusion criteria were: does not have senile dementia, able to read and write and does not have formal education about osteoporosis prevention in the last 3 months. Data were analyzed using t test and ANOVA test. The bivariat results showed that respondents' knowledge scores between control and intervention groups in pretest was equivalent, while as in posttest scores there was a significant difference (p=0.000) and Effectiveness of education methods using osteoporosis prevention guidelines was 52,97%. Future research is recom¬mended to measure behavior for longer period of time as well as employs other education methods such as discussion and role play
