Abstract
The purpose of this study is to measure and compare the results of normal time from MTM-1 and MOST with the results of normal time measurement from Stopwatch Time Study. Analyze and give suggestions based on the comparison of predetermined time system MTM-1 and MOST. As comparison of both methods is required the direct measurement work time method, Stopwatch Time Study. The accuracy of time measurement from both method will be the benchmark in this study. Until now there has been no literature regarding wether which methods between MTM-1 and MOST are better for certain types of work.In this study the types of movement element are divided into general move, controlled move, positioning, body movement, and leg motion. Each element motion of standardized work scheme will be grouped and compared the results of normal time between the method. The results from entire grouping of motion element show that for general motion move, positioning, and , body movement are better using MTM-1, while for the type of controlled movement and footwork are better using MOST. MTM-1 method is more suitable for the type of work that requires a high level of detail and high accuracy, while for the type of work with movements that are generally more suitable MOST.
