Abstract
Technology is a knowledge, a study, and a interdependent scientific theory which elaborate with a system to produce a product and bear a human life. Nowadays, technology become a bond in every product development in many industries. Not only empowering big industries, technology also touch the “low-middle” industries. Both of them are using technology for its own production. Then, this interconnection studied by a specific knowledge which called management technology. As its definition, management technology means as a study which specialized on settings and its interconnection of technology to make a good quality product, efficient, effective works and save up some resources. Furthermore, management technology also focused on how a technology based industries and its linkage with strategy business and technology straregy in order to develop an industries. By using Dussauge, Stuart, and Ramanantsoa method (1977), both of them can be identified. In this research, case study was conducted on UKM Lu Hung and UKM kebon Indah. Both of UKM was a garment production especially batik. But both of them have a different location at Yogyakarta and Jakarta. By these UKMs, this research will identified each technology component in order to count sotisphicated degree, State of The Art, component contribution, component contribution intensity, and Technology Contribution Coefficient. As a result, we can get any solutions about upgrades towards weak technology component. By technometric method, interview method, and observation, and Dussauge, Stuart, & Ramanantsoa method, this research will provide a technology strategy which fit in into both industries. This method measure three primary dimensions such as business growth, market position, and technology. Based on the explanation, this research will choose one strategy which fit into industries. Furthermore, this comparisons between two UKMs become a basis in order to generalize a good strategies and pointed out the most vital upgrades for batik industries to develop into another level. Based on the result, both UKMs have weakness in Humanware side. This weakness spotted by the lowest marks in component constribution intensity. There are upgrades which is available such as better recruitment, training, or deviding workers into cell. On the other hand, these UKM is belong to Question mark strategy which strategy is to strengthen the technology side. In real cases, this part of technology already reach the optimum conditions, so it refers to upgrade Humanware side as its become the component that support Technology side. Shortly, the research concluded that UKM batik have a weakest spot in Humanware side and in order to make it better, then it should implement the upgrades in Humanware sides.
