Abstract
Meylan home industry is a home industry which produce steamed sponge cake, established in 2008 with 10 workers. The problems faced by Meylan home industry are production capacity that can’t be sufficient with the market demands, or we can say that there is a limitation of mixer and worker capacity, and problem at the not economical mixing process currently which use 5 hand mixers. In this study, the focus is to perform embodiment and detail design and also how to improve the mixer according to the needs and better spesifications based on the concept which has been made at the previous study, to get more product and able to meet with the market demands, also more economical at the process. From the result of the study, acquired the design of the prototype that can produce more steamed sponge cake than the previous mixer with trial average 94 pieces compare to currently process average of 80,5 pieces, and had the saving at the electrical consumption from 950 Watts to 559,5 Watts, monthly electrical cost from around Rp.211.926,- to Rp.124.814 and worker need from 5 people to only 1 person.
