The aim of this research was to observe the effects of curcuminoid pretreatment on the pharmacokinetic parameter values of salicylamide in male white rabbits. It was done by the same subject experimental design using six male white rabbits (2-3 months old, 1-2 kg BW). The subjects underwent two steps of treatment, i. e. control step (were given 5 mg/kg BW of salicylamide i.p.) and treatment step (were given 5 mg/kg BW of curcuminoid orally, 1 hour before administered by 50 mg/kg BW of salicylamide i.p). The concentration of salicylamide in blood was determined using spectrofluorometry method in maximum wavelengths of exitation and emission 350 nm and 416 nm in series. The data were analyzed using CPL (Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory) software and compared statistically using paired t-test with 95 % confident interval. The results showed that in salicylamide, Cp max and AUC decreased while Vdss/F and Cl/F increased significantly after curcuminoid pretreatment.
