Abstract
This study aims to examine the factors that influence in improving performance of employee’s at PT MPP. These factors are leadership style and work motivation as an independent variable, while the work performance as the dependent variable. The study used a survey method in which 32 employee’s served as respondents sampled by census techniques. Data were collected using questionnaires, the validity and realiability of which have been tested. The data were then analyzed descriptively and using regression and correlation for inferential statistics. Result of the study showed that leadership and work motivation either individually or collectively have a positve and significant impact on the performance of employee’s of PT MPP. This result meant that the more effective the leadership and work motivation, then the employee’s performance will be better. Based on the research of leadership in PT MPP needs to be improved concerning the leadership capabilities matter to face of problems with attitudes and good behavior. Leadership needs to improve emotional intelligence, training and seminars on anger management. Aside from leadership, employee motivation needs to be improved, especially time of completion the task, do not delay the the task. Leaders need to provide flexibility of employee’s in the performance of duties so as not to cause saturation. The implication of this research is if the leadership and motivation improved, it will increase employee performance.
