Partition of objects relates to many problems. There are two main approaches in classifyng objects, namely crisp partition. Crisp partition uses strict boundary among classes, whereas fuzzy partition allowa vague boundary. There are many problems where fuzzy partition is more appropriate compared to the crisp one. Futhemore, fuzzy partition gives some advantages over crisp partition. There are two fuzzy based partition models, namely fuzzy c-means and fuzzy equivalence relation. This paper presents the needed theoretical background in order to classify objects based on fuzzy equivalence relation.
