Abstract
Nowadays it is belle of agribusiness is new to the people of Indonesia as a field of considerable effort offers the exciting prospect. This field encompasses not only matters relating to agriculture before harvest, but that it is more developed industrial processing of agricultural products (post-harvest). One thing to note here is that the field is dominated by the industry turns out to small and medium-sized house that is actually home industry. In this research focused on cassava chips manufacturers are still using manual cutting tools. The purpose of this research is to design a cassava cutting machine that can lighten the work of the producers of cassava chips. The design development of alternative concepts done using TRIZ method where data collection is done melaului interviews and field observations. To meet the needs of manufacturers of cassava chips production, cutting machine that takes energy-saving, quick in cutting, cutting results are also good. Cassava cutting machine which made the author has met these criteria. To run this cassava cutting machine requires only 75 watts of power with a cutting capacity ½ kilo grams of cassava per minute. For the cost of manufacture of cassava cutting machine requires a fee of Rp. 1,657,000. based on the comparison of the current machine, cassava cutting machine is superior.
