Abstract
Electric scooter is one of the eco-friendly vehicle because it does not produce pollutant. Solar cell is suitable for the tropics because the intensity of sunlight in the tropics is relatively high, so the solar energy that is converted into electrical energy will be more. In this thesis will discuss the design process of the electric scooter with solar cell, that is a scooter with a battery charging system using the solar cell. In the design process will be carried out analysis of the strength and stiffness of the scooter frame. From this design process that has been done, has successfully built an electric scooter using solar cell that is easy and quite comfortable to drive. The structure is safe if the maximum stress is smaller than the permitted stress and also the maximum deflection that occurs is smaller than the permitted deflection.
