Isi artikel
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) provides an excellent example of a disease the totality of whose effects needs to be assessed in three ways. Firstly, disease activity needs to be defined by determining which of its clinical features are potentially reversible. Secondly, permanent damage must be distinguished and last but not least the patient’s view of the impact of SLE on his/her life needs to be recognised.
