Isi artikel
According to the pundits, socialist theory is in crisis . It is not an organic part of working class culture, young people are no longer naturally drawn to it, it's intellectuals are abandoning it . This crisis is long overdue, for everything has changed since the heyday of socialist thought . The economy, the state, the social meaning of class, the significance of culture, and the political salience of the organised labour movement have altered radically, and in the decade of Thatcher and Reagan these changes came home to roost
