So far, the Grundrisse, Contribution and 'Urtext' to the Contribution have been published in the English-language Complete Works, Volumes 28 and 20 . Of the 1861-63 manuscripts, which consist of 1472 notebooks in all, the first have been available in translation as the three parts of Theories of Surplus Value. The remaining manuscripts have been translated and publication is forthcoming . The article assesses the difficulties faced by Marx in presenting the capitalist form of social reproduction in a dialectical form .
