Abstract
Background: Postural changes that often occur during the aging process is kyphosis. Kyphosis is a health problem that is often overlooked. Disorder of the spinal structure was not only a health problem, but also economic and psychosocial problems. Kyphosis could decrease the ability of patients to perform daily activities, increased fracture and fall risks, as well as a variety of other health problems. Additional factors affecting the degree of spinal curvature (kyphosis) were the level of bone density and body mass index.
Objective: To describe the relationship between body mass index , bone mass density, and spinal curvature (kyphosis).
Methods: This study used a descriptive-analytic (cross sectional) design.
Conclusion: There was no significant relationship between body mass index and kyphosis {Two-Sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov Tes P > 0.05 ) > bone mass density and kyphosis ( Pearson Chi-Square test P> 0.05 ), body mass index, bone mass density with kyphosis (Pearson Chi-Square P >0.05) , and between body mass index and bone mass density ( Pearson Chi-Square test P>0.05).
