Abstract
Problems that serve as [he object of this study is the performance of health workers in the Catholic Hospital Bhakti Wara Pangkalpinang has not been eifective. The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the effect of leadership on task orientation and achievement motivation on the performance of health workers in the Catholic Hospital Bhakti Wara Pangkalpinang. To answer the purposes of this study proposed the hypothesis that if the orientation of leadership on task orientation and achievement motivation individually or jointly affect the performance of health workers. The sample used in this study amounted to 72 respondents of 85 health workers who were randomly selected. The method used in this study is a quantitative method through a survey approach. Survey Ls a method of non- experimental descriptive study to collect a phenomenon that can not be observed directly and used to assess the characteristics of what is observed. While qualitative methods aie used to collect in-depth information about ihe performance of health workers and the factors that influence it. Data were collected through questionnaires in the iorm of a statement items are prepared in the form of a Likert's scale with 5 possible answers. Results of studies using quantitative analysis methods to the conclusion that either individually or jointly independent variable of task-oriented leadership style and chievement motivation did not affect positively and significantly on the performance of health workers in RSK-BW Pangkalpinang. Meanwhile, through the measurement of multiple regression revealed that only achievement motivation variables that have direct influence. It means that if the enhanced achievement motivation, the performance of health workers will increase. Variable of the task-oriented leadership style has the opposite effect. If it increases, the performance of health workers will decrease, and vice versa if it down, it will increase the performance of health workers. The implication of this study is needed of other variables that are not included in this study to improve the performance of health workers in RSK-BW Pangkalpinang.
