This article presents a complete, annotated reconstruction of Charles Hill-Tout's 1905 original phonetic transcription of Kayaim, the earliest St'at'imcets (Lillooet Salish) text of any length to be recorded in written form. An introductory commentary details aspects of particular linguistic interest, and compares the St'at'imcets of contemporary speakers to that of the text.
