Based on historical record, 30% of total defect occurrence is rubber defect. These defects mainly caused by damaged in paper roll surface. Paper roll delivers paper sheet along the paper machine to produce a jumbo roll. Therefore, it is important to keep its surface in a good condition. In current situation at PT "PC", unused paper rolls are put directly on the ground of production area, which often makes damage in the paper rolls surface. For this reason, providing a paper roll's storage device is critical issue to reduce defect. Roll storage should be able w protect the sensitive part of roll (rubber). Since paper roll has significant weight and dimension, construction strength should be paid more attention. Realization of the new storage system is a preventive action that could eliminate the defect which comes from paper roll. Since it is equipped with integrated supporting parts, this roll keeper can save some loading time.
