Treatment for Helicobacter pylori infection continues to grow. In Indonesia, the first treatment of Helicobacter pylori infection was used monotherapy, But nowadays, the treatment regimen that be used is the combination therapy using multiple antibiotics. The first regimen was divided into two, the first-line containing triple therapy and second-line containing quadruple therapy.
But as the time goes by, the first therapy regimen began to cause resistance that causing treatment failure.
Some studies try to use a new treatment regimen started by replacing some groups of antibiotics to overcome treatment failure. However, the effectiveness of the new treatment was lower than the old regimen of treatment. Therefore, it is recommended to do the sensitivity test to Helicobacter pylori. |
