Abstract
Increasing awareness of Indonesian People about the importance of health and widespread information of bone surgery which is safe and comfortable, spurred an increase in the number of application of artificial hip bones for humans in Indonesia. Artificial hip bones that are applied in humans in Indonesia, generally designed and manufactured in the United States and Europe. Therefore, the study of the artificial hip bones are referenced, largely based on the dimensions of the human hip bone from the United States and Europe. This study aims to determine the sequence of the appropriate materials pair as artificial hip bones for humans in Indonesia, based on the dimensions of the hip bones of humans in Southeast Asia. Abaqus 6.5 is used to find the appropriate materials as a pair of femoral head and acetabular cup. The results of this study show that Co-Cr-on-Co-Cr pairs has the highest safety factor that amounted to 4,348, then Co-Cr-on-SN pairs of 4,126.
