Abstract
Banana or Latin called Musa Paradisiaca is one of horticultural commodities that likely very high as a food diversification , food security and agro-industry in Indonesia. The problems that arise during the harvest time is abundant amount of bananas and accumulate mainly in banana production centers. Processingbanana into flour is an alternative to anticipate this and to reduce dependence on wheat and rice based products . The process of refining the dried banana to flour with 60 mesh size is usually done in the Village District of Serangpanjang Ponggang Subang using traditional tools called Alu. The traditional process of making banana flour is less effective and efficient, so it is necessary to design a banana flour mill machine according to the environmental conditions in the countryside. The design of the banana flour mill machine generates four alternative concepts. The chosen concept of banana flour mill machine has the following specifications: using gasoline motor with a power of 5.5 HP, has a capacity of + / - 3 kg / h and use safety devices such as centrifugal clutch system for the transfer of energy from the motor .
