Abstract
PT. First national Glassware is a company engaged in the production of such glassware , bottles , bowls , cups , plates , glassware and other products . Preparation of glassware products is based on the order as well as for local mass production . The study was conducted on a production machine that produces the largest disability of the whole machine works .Based on the research and calculation disabilities, found that the biggest flaw is penyimapangan article on violence . The cause of this disability is setting MDP engine ( motor drive Press ) done by trial and error. Therefore, this study aimed to obtain the optimal machine settings so as to reduce the defect. To find the optimum setting , in this study using the design of experiments that the Taguchi method . Taguchi method is used to find significant factors to violence article and the optimal conditions on the machine .From the research, found that the factors that significantly affect the value of the response is a factor with the highest pressure speed 49 ppm , gob temperature of 1I300C , 5600C temperature annealing , normalizing temperature 240C temperature , weight 155 grams articles , article 3 seconds lift time , pressure 46 Kg/ cm 2. Improvement obtained with the optimum setting ofprocess capability ( Cpk) of 1.13 which means that the process has been able to produce products according to specifications established companies.
