The dynamics of role and forms of struggle of Indonesian youth is parallel to the demands for reforms. There is direction shift from idealism to pragmatism. Idealism of Indonesian youth is expressed in their roles as inspirator who energize and encourage reform in many aspects of lives. The pragmatism in the roles and forms of struggles of Indonesian youth has taken place during the era of the New Orde domination ans reform (reformasi).
