Soviet figures indicate that approximately 770.000 citizens are participating in the new perestroika era cooperatives and that these cooperatives now account for around 0.8% of the total sales of goods and services in the soviet union. Sufficient time has passed for the soviet public to form opininons on these relatively unfettered enterprises. A survey conducted in april 1989 by soviet statistician has revealed a considerable amount of negative feelings towards what the cooperatives have had to offer : 43% complained of the lack of vareity of their goods ...
