This paper proposes a framework for materials development. (see Footnote 1 below) It will set forth an example of a lesson unit for secretarial students, as a starting point for discussing task authenticity and coherence between tasks. The lesson unit draws upon the interaction of input, language, content, and task. Such interaction is depicted as follows:
