Abstract
PT Bumi Boga Indah was established in 2006 at suci street number 22, Ciracas. The company has been developing 36 variance of product that divided into 5 division as Special Grade Product Mixes, Flour Confectionary Mixes, Baking Ingredients, Instant Pudding Mixes, Sauces and Savoury Product Mixes. Production process in PT. Bumi Boga Indah is make to order. Production scheduling is needed to arrange the production process. The suggested method is bee colony optimization. The research is using data from January 2013. Based on data recapitulation, there was a lot of job which produced in the same date as the product was ordered. The other problems are some product was delivered lately and none fumigation. Without fumigation, the flour will be easily defiled by ticks. The company affraid if they set a minimum order, their customers will order in a lot amount. Unstable condition of the flour is a perfect condition for the ticks’ egg to hatch. Metaheuristic method “bee colony optimization” is proposed to solve the lateness problem by giving a new production schedule. Bee colony optimization has 2 steps, foraging then waggle dance. Modification performed on the stage where the quest for foraging node not with iterating but by using makespan of a heuristic scheduling method (FCFS, EDD, DANNENBRING DAN GUPTA). The decision of Bee colony optimization method is the smallest value of makespan and ri’s probability. In fact, after the data was calculated, they have the same ri’s probability. Further information such as lateness average and execution average are needed to support the decision. The recommended method either using FCFS or using EDD. The initial makespan is 11.657,09 . Makespan of FCFS is 4552,77 and makespan of EDD is 4569,45.
