PT. Hero Supermarket, Tbk is one of the biggest retail corporation in Indonesia that has 67 outlets spreads in Jabodetabek region. Distribution system is one of the problem that is faced by retail corporation, including PT. Hero Supermarket, Tbk. The proper distribution system will minimize distribution cost, so it is increasing the profit for corporation. Distribution system which was implemented by corporation just now, is not appropriate because it generates distribution cost pretty high, is equal to Rp 732.080.382.920,61.the objection of research is analyzing corporation distribution system, developing cross-docking distribution system as recommendation distribution
system for minimizing distribution cost and comparing distribution system between now and the recommendation. The recommedation of Cross docking distribution system involves calculation of the number of trucks, truck scheduling, safety stock scheduled at warehouse, and redesign the watehouse to support cross docking distribution system. The results which is obtained from calculation of the number of trucks and safety stock scheduled, will become the input for calculating the cost of cross docking distribution system. The calculation shows that distribution cost can be minimized by implemented cross docking distribution system. The recommendation of distribution system provides distribution cost is equal to Rp 269.561.839.098,82 or decreased by 63,18 % compared by recent distribution system. The component of distribution costs are storage costs, transportation cost, and fixed DC operational costs. |
