Family Planning (KB) is one of the effort to reduce the number of births. The condition of unmet need also influence the successful of the family planning program in Indonesia. Unmet need is influenced by various factors, including predisposing factors (age, education, occupation, religion, income, and knowledge of family planning), enabling factors (media facilities, cost, and distance to the place of service), and reinforcing factors (the husband's role, the role of provider, number of children). Therefore, the research conducted a descriptive study to determine the factors that influence the unmet need for family planning in Maulafa Village, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This study uses descriptive study. Sample were taken with Purposive Sampling in the neighborhood which the highest number of unmet needs and the number of samples was 100 women. The population was mothers of childbearing age (15-49 years old) in the Maulafa Village belonging to the category of unmet need for family planning. Data collected through interviews guided by a questionnaire and then tabulated using the frequency table and made a comparison between these factors using descriptive-crosstab. The conclusion of this research is in the Maulafa Village results obtained as much as 66 respondents (66%) knew at least 5 types of contraceptives. More than 50% of respondents decided to be an unmet need by their own desires, and about 44% stated that the husband does not agree. Only 18% said less satisfied with the role of health workers. The number of health workers in the Maulafa Village also quite adequate. The reason they do not want the family planning because they have fear of the side effects, health factors, and feeling uncomfortable. This shows the respondents' knowledge about family planning is limited. |
