Abstract
Exhaust system replacement is one way to increase the power and torque of the motor. However, the replacement is not always increasing the power and torque of the motor to the optimally. There are other components in the exhaust which participating optimizes its performance that is on the part of its neck. The curve of the neck of the exhaust has a lot of profiles. Surely the various profiles have their own characters. The research conducted in this Thesis is to determine how much influence from each type of profiles curvature neck exhaust with experimental method. This experimental includes testing of power and torque, fuel consumption testing, and testing of exhaust emissions. From the testing that has been done, profile type B produces peak power 8.561 hp @ 7521 rpm followed by profile type A with 8.490 hp @ 7528 rpm, and the profile normal type with 8.468 hp @ 7536 rpm. The greater power make the profile type B consumes fuel for 0.071 kg/hp.hour on exhaust emission, the levels of CO which produce by each profile differ 0.06% Vol. Profile normal type produces the lowest level of CO with 2.04% Vol. Meanwhile for the level of HC of normal profile type produces HC levels: 953 ppmVol., 1.75% higher than the profile types A and 1.76% higher than the profile type B.
