Abstract
People have many routine activities such as walking, sports, going to work, and much more. One of them is moving goods from one place to another. Handtruck is a tool used by people to move goods, but it is still causing some problems, therefore in this research will be developed a handtruck that can solve the problem that occurs on the regular handtruck.This research applies the method Algorithm of Inventive Problem Solving (Ariz.). This method makes an analysis of the function of the relationship between the components that interact to see the problems that occurred on the device. From the analysis of the function, a technical contradiction problems and physical contradictions will be made. From the decomposition of technical contradictions and physical contradictions I found 4 important parts to look for solutions development concept. The parts of the handtruck are the wheels, freight container, freight container bottom, and handle. Solutions sought to apply the concept of contradiction matrix to obtain the principle solution that can be used in product development handtruck. There are 5 successful product concepts established in this study from the application of the results obtained from contradiction matrix. The concept then tested on its performance by conducting experiments and assessments to get the best concept which will be developed further.
