The journey of the English learners in following long path of English material seems never finds the final stop. Almost all learners have to spend their best time and their optimal effort for gaining this language. One of the biggest linguistic problems which keeps blocking the learners effort in acquiring English is their problem in pronouncing English words under the linguistic branch, phonology (Fred& Iverson, 1994). Talking about pronunciation, will not be far from discussing about speech sounds, stress, and intonation (Murcia& Goodwin, 1991). Every English word always contains those three aspects of pronunciation (Pit, 1992). Meanwhile, Indonesian language, has its own absolutely different pronunciation from English. Especially the ‘stress’ in every word is something uncommon to be noted. There are still some other reasons that hinder Indonesian students in acquiring English pronunciation. However, those problems are not without solution. There are some solutions that can be done to overcome those problems. Some of them are by recognizing the manner of articulation of those difficult sounds, combining some Indonesian speech sounds to produce certain difficult English speech sounds, and creating some environments where the drilling and the practice of English word pronouncing is emphasized regularly. Hopefully, by digging out the reasons and exploring the solutions, the English pronunciation will no longer be a problem.
