This is important because during the years 1960 to present, the monetary authorities in Indonesia have replaced the system of exchange rates for five times. The change from one system to another based on the need for exchange rate system in accordance with an economy that experienced a change in line with the economic development of an increasingly dynamic and rapidly (before the crisis of July 1997). An Exchange rate system is very influential on the behavior of the rupiah, especially after the exchange rate system to switch to either a floating exchange rate system as well as free-floating and restrained. These results show that economic growth and exchange rate against the U.S. dollar has a one-way relation that economic growth affects the exchange rate of rupiah against the U.S. dollar.
