A low voltage distribution line distributes electrical power to consumers, residential or small industries. The low voltage line distribution cost consist of investment cost, energy losses cost and operation and maintenance cost. The investment cost includes the conductor and non conductor investment cost, with the conductor investment cost component being quite significant. The bigger the conductor size the higher it's investment cost, benefying a lower energy losses operation and maintenance costs. On the other hand, the smaller the conductor size, the lower it's investment cost, the higher it's energy losses, the operation cost and maintenance costs. This paper deals with the need to find out the most economical conductor size at a minimum investment, operation and maintenance cost.
