In Indonesia nowadays, these things are still applied especially the patterns of sentence structures and the forms found in the glossaries. This study learns about the formal use of bahasa Indonesia in some agreement letters, such as in Letter of Credit and job employment. There are some errors fourld in those letters, especially about the usage of punctuations and the patterns of the sentence structures. The examples of the mistakes are commas and colons are not used accurately, unclear subject in sentences, and lack of conjunctions. The errors are made because of the strong influence of the English grammar The English sentences are directly translated into bahasa Indonesia without considering the formal grammar of bahasa Indonesia. The law script writers should concern about this matter since most of the agreement letters are distributed to Indonesian people who do not always understand English language.
