Given the increasing use of motor vehicles and motor vehicle production grew high, automotive enthusiasts and vehicle manufacturers competing in the development of motor vehicles, especially in improving the performance of vehicle engines with low exhaust emissions without increasing the specific fuel consumption of vehicles. One way is by using HHO or Brown Gas Generator. HHO generator that produces hydrogen and oxygen through electrolysis process that is inserted through the intake manifold to mix with gasoline fuel in the combustion chamber and improve the combustion in the vehicle. Research in this thesis aims to investigate the effect of the use of HHO Generator on a single-cylinder Otto motors. Type of research conducted an experiment. To complete the study conducted by comparing the power, torque, exhaust emissions and specific fuel consumption before installation and after installation of HHO Generator. The results obtained after the study was an increase of 3.2% of maximum power, maximum torque rise 11.28%, HC decreased levels by an average of 23.1%, decrease in the average CO level of 11.5%, nearstoichiometric AFR is 1.014, and a decrease in specific fuel consumption at a maximum of 10.76%. |
