Warehouse is one of the most important part in supporting the activities of production, because in the warehouse occur flow of goods, information and cost. In addition, the warehouse is a place used for the storage of goods in the form of raw material, item work in process or finished good. The purpose of the warehousing system is to organize and store items that have been prepared to do the distribution and piped to consumers. In this study, the object being observed is the finished goods warehouse fencing products. In the finished goods warehouse there are different type sizes of fence, the type of fence sizes 60 cm, 90 cm, 120 cm, 150 cm, 175 cm, 190 cm, and 240 cm. The main problems in research on PT. PRATAMA BAJATAMA PRIMA is an irregular product placement and point out - incoming irregular finished goods warehouse, that result in wasting time and difficult for warehouse division in doing searches and transportation products. This causes the total transport distance becomes longer and result in losses to the company both in terms of time and cost. Thus the purpose of this research is to propose improvements finished goods warehouse layout so that the activity in warehouse can run with optimal and propose order picking systems in the finished goods warehouse. Therefore, the calculated total transport distance for the 8 alternative finished goods warehouse layout proposals that have been made, and to determine the centroid of each type of field placement area the size of the fence, the production area, and the area of distribution. Of 8 alternate layout of finished goods warehouse proposal, which was selected as the best alternative is the finished goods warehouse layout alternative proposal 2, due to having the smallest total transport distance and the value of the optimal order picking, amounting to 40947.21 meters. |
