Isi artikelThe type of this research is an action research. The background was that many students were not interested in the Catholic Religious Education Teaching & Learning Evaluation course because the course materials dealt with calculations and were taught by using informative method. This research was aimed to develop students' interest in the Catholic Religious Education Teaching & Learning Evaluation course through cooperative learning method by using Excel Program. The problem in this research was how to develop students' interest in the Catholic Religious Education Teaching & Learning Evaluation course through cooperative learning strategy by using Excel Program? The type of cooperative learning that was used in this research was Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD). The research was conducted from February through October 2008 in a class of 64 students. This research was designed in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four meetings. Action procedure in each meeting was as follows: (1) presentation of course materials (by lecturer); (2) classical discussion; (3) groups discussion; (4) quiz or assignment related to the course materials that consisted exercises, planning, tryout, and instruments analysis by using Excel Program. Observation on the process and results of the action in this research ended up with this findings: the number of students who showed interest in this course increased from 74%(preimplementation) to 83% in the cycle I and increased to 94% in the cycle II.
