Every organization today needs a mission statements as the saying goes. Many consider mission statements as to be important to business success. The mission statement will help to brings clarity to purpose, goals objectives for an organization. However, the question remaining is how much impact does mission statement has an organization performance. This paper reports on the relationship of mission statement to company performance. In specific, the study examine the differences between the MESDAQ listed technology based companies with clear publish mission statement the company possesses and the impact on organization performance. In this study, the presence or absence of mission statement of each company listed MESDAQ was tracked. The mission statements available were later further analyze to determine if it is to be considered as quality mission statement. Company performance was measured by financial indicators in terms of ROA, ROE and EPS. Findings indicate that companies with clear published mission statement are associated with significantly higher company performance. However this is only applicable for large asset size companies. Also it is found that there is a significantImpact on the quality of mission statement and the performance of the company. Again, the significance of the relation between quality of mission statement and the performance of the company is only applicable for large asset size companies.
