In both Groundwork and the Metaphysics of Morals Kant tells us that we should make others happiness our end. Most everyone agress that we should do this for at least some others, namely those we love like our friends or spouses. Contributing to the happiness of loved ones is something that many people take to be among their central aims. In this article I take happiness to be the same as well being or flourishing, and that may make the claim that we should make our intimates happiness our end seem even more abviously correct.
