The objective of this study is to examine the effect of quality of work life variables on performance of employees. The study uses multivariate analysis in analyze the findings. This study was performed with secondary data collection for year 2010 employee performance variable data and the survey method in the variables of quality of work life by distributing questionnaires to 79 employees of PT. MME in Muara Enim Site. The sampling method used in this study is non probability sampling with purposive technique. The collected data was processed using SPSS version 17.0. The F-test results showed that all factor of quality of work life simultaneously influenced the employee's performance. This result was characterized by the value of F value = 15.227 (F value > F table). T-test results showed that 9 factors of quality of work life which were tested in partial, employee involvement with coefficient value = 21.6% (t = 2227 and p-value = 0029), working environmental safety with coefficient value =19.6% (t = 2097 and p-value = 0040) and a sense of pride on the institution with coefficient value = 21.2% (t = 2488 and p-value = 0015) have strong influence to employees’ performance, the significant below 0.05. For other factors such as communication, compensation balance, continuity of employment security, career development, facilities availability, and problem solving were not affecting the employees’ performance. According to these results, we concluded that, in partial, not all these quality of work life factors affected employee’ performance, but taken jointly there is a significant influence on employee’ performance. The writer suggested to the management of PT. MME to prioritize employee engagement factor, workplace safety factor and a sense of pride on the institution factor so that employee’ performance can be improved. Otherwise, as for the other six factors can be continued and maintained so that employee’ performance can be sustained and its benefits can be felt both by the employee and the organization as a whole.
