Ethanol is a commodity that is widely used for various purposes depending on its use. Broadly grouped into two based ethanol use, the ethanol for industry as a raw material and ethanol as a commodity that could potentially replace petroleum. Ethanol can be obtained by performing two basic processes, namely the process of fermentation and distillation processes. The fermentation process itself is a process of decomposition by microorganisms that convert sugar or starch from plants (fruits or vegetables) in order to extract the ethanol. Apart from new raw materials, ethanol can also be obtained using the factory waste, such as raw materials using molasses. Imagine if a useless waste plant was able to be processed into a new product that has a higher sale value, of the profits are enormous. Especially in Indonesia many raw materials that can be processes to produce ethanol. Therefore, designers try to design a decent fermenter for fermentation processes. The trick is to design a fermentor in accordance with the existing parameters. For the parameters in question is the material used in the design should not react with the raw materials during the fermentation process takes place, the material must also be strong to withstand the pressure that occurs during the fermentation process takes place and the temperature during the fermentation process must be maintained in accordance with existing regulations. |
