Abstract
hovercraft has been designed to have length of overall of 5,03 meters and beam of 2,03 meters. Power for advance moving was determined based on calculation of thrust deriving main engine power, 13 HP, considering mechanical efficiency ,is 11.31 HP. Speed of advance was calculated by taking into account losses on the belt and pulley of, 1,5 percents, losses on the shaft of 1 percent, and losses on the propeller of 0,5 percent and also calculated according to the volume of air expelled by the propeller. Belt and pulley efficiency was inroduced in transmition system as an exchange of gear box. The result shown that the speed of advanced as the effect of mechanical efficieny is 2,23 metre per second and as the effect of air expelled from the propeller is 2,6 metre per second. The discripancy of these two values is significantly small, therefore both method are
accepted for calculating of the speed of advance
