The layout of the plant is a major cornerstone in the industrial world. And plant layout problem the facility layout and production equipment is one factor that plays an important role in increasing the productivity of the company. Mileage material handling (transfer material) from one area to another area to be optimized, as this will affect the trajectory and the distance from the production process. The problems that often occurs is the finished goods warehouse layout is still not well ordered and have not been able to accommodate the entire production of the PT. Betawimas Cemerlang. This is shown on warehouse conditions are still not properly organized and the laying of the finished product. This will affect the time and mileage traveled by material handling and will also affect the rising costs of material handling and material removal costs. Then there are products that are put in the hallway, off the factory and also in the area caused by the production of finished goods warehouse capacity can’t accommodate the whole production. Thus the objective of the study was designed so that the layout of the new proposals to ease the flow of materials into finished goods warehouse to use and maintain the existing factory area. Then make a comparison between the layout of the current proposal with the proposed layout. The results obtained in this study meant that the company could have the warehousing system is well organized and well from this research will provide a useful positive impact for the company's progress. In this study obtained three layout proposals based on calculations using the method of Dedicated Storage, Storage Randomized Method and Method of Class-Based Storage and Order Picking distance calculations. Total distance for the current condition of the warehouse is equal to 1582.94 m. Total distance for the design layout of the proposed Dedicated Storage’s method reduced 1,75% of the initial conditions. Then, for a total distance of the proposed design layout with Randomized Storage methods decreased by 1.99%. While the number of total distance for the design layout of the proposed method of Class-Based Storage decreased by 2.29% of the initial conditions. |
