Abstract
PT Tembaga Mulia Semanan, Tbk (PT TMS, Tbk) have been established since 1977 and have a motto: “TMS means quality” and the primary goal is customer satisfaction. This company had produced several products such as copper rod, drawn copper wire, bunched copper wire and aluminum rod. In carrying out its production activities of PT TMS, Tbk continues to maintain the quality and performance of the company to keep satisfying customers. One of the problems that are happening in this company is the delay in meeting the demand of all consumers for the supply of copper wire. It occurs in the production department of Drawing II. This has become one of the basic productivity needs an overhaul in the company, so the problem can be addressed compliance with the request. Productivity measures that do not look at just only one factor as financial factors can be used as a tool to evaluate the course of the company's production activities. Therefore, the productivity measurement used is the OMAX model, because it looks the various factors contained in the company. Productivity measurement consists of 12 criteria, which are minimizing the number of rework products, optimization of the amount of labor, material use efficiency, electrical energy use efficiency, water energy use efficiency, optimization of production capacity, optimization of work hours, minimization employees’ absent hours, minimization of employees’ overtime hours, minimizing absenteeism, production setup time efficiency, and effectiveness of production planning. OMAX of productivity measurement has been done during the year 2011, obtained the company's productivity index as follows: in January 2011 at 148.837%, in February 2011 at 146.770%, in March 2011 at 148.493%, the month of April 2011 at 139.966%, in May 2011 at 149.096%, in June 2011 at 143.755%, in July 2011 of 145.564%, in August 2011 at 107.321%, the month of September 2011 at 125.84%, the month of October 2011 at 137.640%, the month of November 2011 at 119.380%, and December 2011 at 112.834%.
In addition to productivity measurement, analysis of issues relating to productivity are also conducted in this study. Productivity analysis is done using FMEA method, which has been found 33 failures modes associated with the twelve criteria are measured and there are 90 causes of failures that hamper the achievement of the low value of the scale for the whole 12 criteria. Conducting a program to perform OMAX productivity calculations and analyze problems named OptiM&A Soft. (OMAX Productivity Measurement and Analysis Software) can be used as a tool to help companies solve problems and make improvements and increased productivity from time to time.
