“Location, location, location”: The importance of just that to the long-term success of a plastics processing business explains why Pennsylvania, particularly the northwest section of the state around Erie, takes an aggressive approach in developing what it can offer. Thanks to state financial initiatives such as seed funding for innovative projects, Keystone Opportunity Zones where local and state taxes are dropped for 10-15 years, or state initiatives to promote plastics exports, Pennsylvania’s efforts are illustrative of what that state is offering, and also of what processors should look for no matter where they settle.
