Our study was aimed to examine the effect of earphone usage and of ceasing its usage to hearing dysfunctions and improvement. Forty subjects participated in this study, classified into control (20 participants) and exposure group (20 participants). Audiometry was performed once in control group and three times every three months in exposure group by using audiometer (RION AA-73A). Unpaired t-test shows there is significant different of the hearing level at 0,5, 1,5, and 2 kHz between control and exposure group (P<0,05). Anova-Tukey post hoc shows hearing level decreased significantly 3 and 6 months after the earphone usage was ceased (P<0,05). Based on unpaired t-test, there is no significant different of the hearing level between exposure group vs. control group at 6 months after cease of the earphone usage.
