This paper explains descriptively the relevance and the progress of the creative economy in Indonesia. This concept develops flourishingly in the recent years. The creative economy entails industries such as film, entertainment, art. crafty tourism etc. Basically, they include jobs in knowledge, information and creativity-based activities. In Indonesia, this industry is not relatively it well developed. To deal with an advance creative economy, we have to design an integrated industrial policy linking several ministerial departments. This paper argues that creative economy without a spirit of entrepreneur ship should be a hollow concept and subsequently the implementation of this concept will not have a significant impact on the real problem of the Indonesia's economy as a whole. |
