Isi artikel
Based on the "1945 Constitution", Indonesia is a unity state with the basic ideology consists of five items known as Pancasila. Constitution also honered the people sovereignty and the rule of law. Furthermore Indonesian democracy carried out with representative democracy. Democracy is a growing phenomenon that is almost evenly distributed in some countries in the world after the cold war. But democracy itself is basically for each country will have a different form. Democracy in Indonesia is still looking for a fitting. This phenomenon is to search for the ide3al of democracy, although is difficult to achieve. However the development of democracy is not accompanied by changes in the conditions and phenomena of social and economic community. Achievements in the field of economic development up to now can be said are still a marginal progress. Economic development should be marked with maintaining stability, economic growth, and job opportunities. Principal issues in the economy still appear to be very large, and even almost no progress compared with the New Order era. In fact community enthusiasm and joyous welcome the growth of democracy in Indonesia, but ironically this process in line with increasing the level of poverty, unemployment is still high, foreign debts increasing, and many other economic problems. However, since the reform was started, Indonesia is in the democratic transition, the entire framework of democracy has been built and will keep on progressing to develop. Many tools for democracy are already been developed. For Indonesia's democracy is a constitutional mandate. So transition of democracy (democratization) is a "point of no return" in achieving a better democracy.
