Abstract
Viscosity is a measure that indicates fluid consistency value. Viscosity value is also used to measure the oil consistency in vehicle machineries. Thus, viscosity value is an important thing to be paid attention to in order to maintain the performance of vehicle machinery. This study will create a viscosity value tester, a tool to test the viscosity value level in a vehicle machinery. The basis of method that will be used in the making process is the rotary viscometer method that was used in Brookfield Viscometer. The tool making process will start with selecting microcontroler as the process media, and rotary encoder will be used as the sensor. Validation will be done by comparing the results from viscosity value tester with the viscosity value published by oil manufacturers. It was seen from the results derived that the viscosity tester is fully functioned. The result derived from this viscosity value tester is the viscosity value in cSt (centistokes).
