The purpose of determining the optimal number of unit load and fleet size of raw material and finished good transportation using linear program mathematical model is to minimize the total of vehicle usage time and the total of vehicle travel distance on material handling in PT. Sinar Intan Putra Nusa. This calculation of number of unit load and fleet size is done for making objective function to maximize the number of unit load that’s going to be transported to machines.The optimal solution for raw material and finished good transportation are obtained by using LINGO 13.0 software. In this study, the optimal solution for the transportation of raw materials made in 3 limit unit load conditions which the first witth 40 unit load limit, the second condition with 50 unit load limit and the third condition with 60 unit load limit. Besides that, the optimal solution for the transportation of finished goods made in 3 limit unit load conditions which the first witth 25 unit load limit, the second condition with 30 unit load limit and the third condition with 35 unit load limit. Based on the resultsof 3 conditions, the optimal solutionsis obtained by comparing the results of all three conditions and the third conditions is the most optimal conditions and evaluating the proposals and recommended for the transportation of raw materials and finished goods. From the result of evaluating recommended situation raw material transportation decreased the total of vehicle usage time for 69,77% and decrease the total of vehicle travel distance for 75,01%. From the result of evaluating recommended situation finished goods transportation decreased the total of vehicle usage time for 64,3% and decrease the total of vehicle travel distance for 60,1%. |
